Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven
Engineering Manager
to lead manufacturing engineering operations within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for driving engineering excellence, operational efficiency, product quality, new product introduction (NPI), process optimization, and team development while ensuring customer requirements and business objectives are achieved.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and technical leadership across manufacturing engineering, testing, process development, equipment management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all manufacturing engineering activities to ensure product quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction goals are consistently achieved.
- Monitor and drive departmental performance through KPIs, operational metrics, and regular management reporting.
- Develop organizational capabilities by identifying skill gaps, implementing training plans, strengthening succession pipelines, and building a high-performing engineering team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement focused on productivity, quality, cost, delivery, and operational excellence.
- Champion engineering and manufacturing excellence through close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes and methods using Lean Manufacturing principles and best practices.
- Manage engineering change activities arising from customer requirements, process improvements, and corrective actions.
- Lead testing and validation activities, including coordination of engineering personnel, test systems, equipment, and software validation processes.
- Analyze test yield and manufacturing issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and monitor effectiveness.
- Develop process controls, data collection systems, and analytical methodologies to improve yield, reliability, and product quality.
- Support production teams with troubleshooting, technical problem-solving, and process improvement initiatives.
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) programs from development through production launch using APQP, PPAP, and structured project management methodologies.
- Drive Design for Excellence (DFX) initiatives to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and enhance product quality and reliability.
- Provide technical leadership and establish technology and engineering roadmaps aligned with operational and business objectives.
- Lead process development projects and provide technical guidance to project teams on process optimization and implementation.
- Oversee equipment management, maintenance strategies, and manufacturing readiness for production requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum
8 years of experience
in Manufacturing Engineering, preferably within electronics manufacturing, EMS, PCBA, or related industries.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and driving operational improvements in a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience in:
- NPI and PCBA manufacturing
- Design for Manufacturing / Design for Excellence (DFX)
- Optical Inspection (AOI) and X-Ray Inspection
- PCB Assembly and Box Build processes
- Mechanical Assembly
- Manufacturing Testing and Validation
- Industrial Engineering practices
