ETL Developer / Database Engineer (PySpark required)

Location: Philadelphia area (100% onsite)

We’re looking for an experienced

ETL Developer / Database Engineer

to join our Data Engineering team supporting mission‑critical financial systems. In this role, you’ll work alongside database administrators, software developers, and production engineers to build and maintain the reliable platforms that power our business—including

relational databases

, messaging middleware, reference data systems, observability solutions, and more.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting and maintaining production operations for

150\+ database servers

used across multiple applications and business units.

• Operating, troubleshooting, and enhancing

ETL processes

for both core business functions and application‑specific use cases.

• Designing and implementing

highly available, fault‑tolerant database platforms

for new and existing systems.

• Continuously improving system reliability, monitoring, alerting, and performance through software/hardware upgrades and tuning.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or a related technical field
• 5\+ years of experience

in a Database Administration including 2 years of professional experience using

PySpark

• Experience working with

large datasets

(tens of millions of rows; terabytes of data)

• Hands‑on experience with

relational database

platforms; i.e., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server

• Strong understanding of

Linux and Windows

operating systems

• Ability to learn, understand, and maintain

legacy codebases

• Proficiency in

SQL development, shell scripting, and Python

• Experience with

ETL tools

(Pyspark required)

• Familiarity with

DevOps/CI/CD tools

(Perforce, GitLab, TeamCity, Jenkins, Ansible) is a plus
