  • Hours:**Mon-Thurs 5:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Four 10-hour days) - plus overtime as required
  • Pay:** $23\.00 - $27\.00/hour- depending on experience
  • Summary:**This position will lay out, position, fabricate and secure parts/assemblies according to specifications or technical drawings, using straightedge, combination square, calipers and measuring tapes. Will perform multi-pass welding (3/8-1/2 common) on assemblies using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG). The welder will remove nonconforming areas from work using portable hand grinder or die grinder. Individuals must perform all work in a safe and controlled manner while adhering to all safety and production policies and procedures. Working safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following all Tandemloc, State, and Federal guidelines is required to include the use of proper approved personal protective equipment including but not limited to safety glasses, safety toed shoes, gloves, hearing protection, face shields, weld helmets, and skin protection. This position reports directly to the Welding Manager.

Work Experience

  • 3\+ years' experience in the trade as a welder (or completion of 2-year welding certificate or diploma program).

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Welding Certificate Program (preferred)

Certification/Licenses

  • 2-yearWelding Certificate or Diploma
  • Must be able to pass a Tandemloc Welder Certification Test per Tandemloc policies.

Technical Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to read prints as well as have mechanical aptitude to use and understand measuring devices (i.e. calipers, tape measures, steel ruler).
  • Must be able to perform multi-pass stacked welds that consistently meet quality and safety standards.
  • Constant exposure to one or more elements typically found in a manufacturing setting such as noise, dust, heat, fumes or dirt. Work environment is not environmentally controlled to include very hot conditions in the summer months and limited heat in he winter.
  • Individuals will be expected to be in uniform utilizing proper PPE in an environment that can be very dangerous, loud and repetitive.
  • Must have the ability to focus and be attentive to safety and effective performance.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and physical stamina, with the ability to stand, kneel, lift, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs. overhead for extended periods
  • Must be able to do repetitive assembly tasks.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to verbally convey counts, statuses, needs, etc. in a clear concise manner.
  • Must be able to wear protective clothing, earplugs, safety glasses, respirators, etc. while performing many of the tasks.
