The Role
The
Manager, Procurement \& Sourcing
will lead procurement strategy and execution for the less-than-truckload (LTL) segment. This individual will oversee carrier sourcing, pricing strategy, and relationship management while collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to deliver cost-effective, service-driven transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, develop, and manage a scalable carrier network to support client needs
- Lead RFP processes and analyze carrier rates, capacity, and service commitments
- Negotiate pricing agreements and drive cost optimization initiatives
- Establish and maintain strong carrier relationships, including onboarding and compliance
- Monitor and present performance metrics; lead business reviews with carriers and customers
- Partner with internal teams (operations, sales, customer success) to design tailored solutions
- Hire, mentor, and manage a team of procurement and pricing professionals
- Develop KPIs and forecasting tools to support pricing strategy and decision-making
- Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- \~5\+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or transportation/logistics
- Strong knowledge of LTL and broader transportation modes (e.g., truckload, intermodal, specialized)
- Experience with carrier rate structures and contract negotiations
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally (\~10%)
