The Role

The

Manager, Procurement \& Sourcing

will lead procurement strategy and execution for the less-than-truckload (LTL) segment. This individual will oversee carrier sourcing, pricing strategy, and relationship management while collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to deliver cost-effective, service-driven transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, develop, and manage a scalable carrier network to support client needs
  • Lead RFP processes and analyze carrier rates, capacity, and service commitments
  • Negotiate pricing agreements and drive cost optimization initiatives
  • Establish and maintain strong carrier relationships, including onboarding and compliance
  • Monitor and present performance metrics; lead business reviews with carriers and customers
  • Partner with internal teams (operations, sales, customer success) to design tailored solutions
  • Hire, mentor, and manage a team of procurement and pricing professionals
  • Develop KPIs and forecasting tools to support pricing strategy and decision-making
  • Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and process improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • \~5\+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or transportation/logistics
  • Strong knowledge of LTL and broader transportation modes (e.g., truckload, intermodal, specialized)
  • Experience with carrier rate structures and contract negotiations
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (\~10%)
