Salary:
£32,000 per year
About Us
Body Smart Fitness is one of the UK's fastest-growing online health and coaching companies, having helped over 7,000 women transform their health through our award-winning coaching programme. We're a passionate, fast-moving content team on a mission to change the lives of women all over the world - and YouTube is one of our most powerful tools to do it.
We're looking for a talented YouTube Video Editor to join us full-time, dedicated exclusively to growing and producing content for
Stacey's YouTube channel (@bodysmartstacey)
- one of our two primary content platforms.
This is not a generalist role. If you live and breathe YouTube, understand what makes people click, watch, and come back for more, and take genuine pride in producing content that moves people - this is the role for you.
The Role
You'll own the post-production workflow for Stacey's YouTube channel end-to-end. That means editing long-form videos that educate, inspire, and convert - and producing daily Shorts that stop the scroll and drive channel growth.
You'll work closely with Stacey and the wider content team, turning filmed footage into polished, high-performing YouTube content that reflects our brand values and serves our audience of women 30\+ navigating weight loss, hormones, and long-term health.
What You'll Be Doing
- Editing long-form YouTube videos from raw footage through to final export - including A-roll, B-roll, music, SFX, captions, and motion graphics
- Producing daily YouTube Shorts, repurposing and optimising long-form content for short-form performance
- Applying retention-focused editing techniques - pacing, pattern interrupts, visual hooks - to maximise watch time and viewer engagement
- Adding closed captions and ensuring accessibility across all content
- Collaborating with Stacey on creative direction and bringing ideas to the edit
- Staying on top of YouTube trends, algorithm changes, and what's performing in the women's health and lifestyle space
- Working within the content team's production schedule to hit deadlines consistently
- Attending weekly content team meetings and contributing creative input
What We're Looking For
Skills and experience:
- Proven experience editing YouTube content - long-form and Shorts - with a portfolio to back it up
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Comfortable working with Adobe After Effects for titles, lower thirds, and motion graphics
- Strong instinct for pacing, storytelling, and what keeps an audience watching
- Understanding of YouTube as a platform - what drives clicks, watch time, and subscriber growth
- Excellent attention to detail in colour, audio, captions, and overall polish
- Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Attitude and approach:
- A genuine passion for YouTube and for producing content that genuinely helps people
- The confidence to take creative direction and apply it without ego - and the confidence to push back constructively when you have a better idea
- Self-driven and accountable - you own your output
- Collaborative by nature, comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment
- An appreciation for the mission: we're helping women rebuild their relationship with their health, and the content we create is how we reach them
- A personal interest in health, fitness, or wellbeing matters here. You don't need to be a personal trainer, but if you care about the subject matter - if you find yourself watching this kind of content anyway, you'll bring more to the role and enjoy it a lot more
What We Offer
- A modern, stylish office based in the Liver Buildings in Liverpool city centre
- Hybrid working - 2-3 days working from home per week
- Commitment to your continued professional development
- A front-row seat in a fast-growing global health movement, with genuine opportunities to grow your role as the channel scales
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Occasional weekend availability may be required during high-output periods
How to Apply
Shortlisted candidates will be sent a short Application form to complete - this gives you the chance to tell us more about yourself, your experience, and why you want to be part of what we're building.
As part of that same stage, you'll also need to submit a short recorded video (
https://www.loom.com
/ or similar) - around 5 minutes. This is an important part of the process for us. We want to get a feel for who you are beyond a CV, hear you talk about your work, and understand what draws you to this role. Put some thought into it.
From there, successful applicants will be invited to a 20-minute Zoom interview with the team, followed by a final practical stage where you'll edit a short piece of content - a couple of minutes of real YouTube footage - so we can see how you work.
