Our client in the personal care space is hiring a Shopify Developer!

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Full-Stack Web Developer with deep experience in Shopify theme customization and complex API integrations within EHR/EMR environments. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining custom dashboards, integrating third-party healthcare and payments platforms (Elation, OpenLoop, Telescope, Stripe, Hubspot), and implementing advanced conditional logic for products and services inside EMR/EHR systems.

This position requires strong front-end development skills, API architecture experience, and the ability to work within both regulated healthcare technology environments and high volume optimized ui/ux one-click checkout shopify stores.

Key Responsibilities

1\. Shopify Theme Development \& Customization

• Customize and optimize Shopify themes using Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Implement advanced product logic (conditional variants, subscription logic, gated products, dynamic pricing, etc.).
• Develop custom sections, templates, and metafield-driven features.
• Improve site performance, page speed, and UX.
• Integrate Shopify with third-party systems via APIs and webhooks.
• Troubleshoot and maintain production storefront environments.

2\. EHR/EMR API Integration \& Custom Development

• Build and maintain secure integrations with: Elation Health API, OpenLoop API, Telescope Health API, Stripe API (payments, subscriptions, webhooks)
• Handle patient intake workflows, order-to-prescription logic, and status tracking.
• Ensure HIPAA-conscious architecture and secure data handling.
• Manage authentication (OAuth2, API keys, JWT, etc.) and webhook processing.
• Maintain documentation for API endpoints and system architecture.

3\. Custom Dashboard Development

• Design and build internal dashboards aggregating data from: EMR/EHR systems, Stripe (billing, subscription, revenue reporting), Shopify (revenue reporting, subscriptions, etc)
• Build reporting tools for operational visibility (patient flow, prescription status, revenue, churn, etc.).
• Create role-based access dashboards for internal teams.
• Implement data synchronization and real-time updates where required.

4\. Conditional Logic \& Workflow Automation (EMR/EHR Systems)

• Implement product-to-medical workflow logic such as: Intake form branching logic, Prescription eligibility rules, State-based compliance logic, Provider routing logic
• Map product SKUs to clinical workflows.
• Automate patient onboarding sequences.
• Build service gating logic based on medical qualification or subscription status.
• Collaborate with medical/compliance teams to implement required logic accurately.

5\. Security, Compliance \& Infrastructure

• Implement secure data transfer protocols.
• Work within HIPAA-aligned best practices (even if not directly handling PHI).
• Maintain logging, monitoring, and error-handling systems.
• Assist in infrastructure planning (AWS, Vercel, GCP, etc.).
• Ensure uptime and reliability of critical integrations.

Required Qualifications

• 3\+ years of experience in Shopify theme development.
• Strong proficiency in: Liquid, JavaScript (Node.js preferred), RESTful APIs, Webhooks, JSON data structures
• Experience integrating third-party APIs in production environments.
• Experience building internal dashboards (React, Next.js, Vue, or similar).
• Experience with Stripe API (subscriptions, billing, webhooks).
• Understanding of authentication protocols (OAuth2, JWT).
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with EHR/EMR systems (Elation, OpenLoop, Telescope, or similar).
• Familiarity with healthcare workflows and compliance constraints.
• Experience building middleware services.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance best practices.
• DevOps experience (CI/CD pipelines, server management).
• Database experience (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
