Job Description
A growing organization in the energy and power infrastructure sector is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the engineering and delivery of large-scale power generation and grid interconnection projects. This role focuses on high-voltage systems, including substations, transmission infrastructure, and electrical collection systems associated with utility-scale generation facilities.
The engineer will work within cross-functional teams to ensure the design, performance, and reliability of critical electrical infrastructure from development through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering oversight for high-voltage substation and transmission line design
- Develop and review engineering deliverables including substation layouts, cable and conduit plans, grounding systems, and auxiliary power distribution diagrams
- Support engineering studies such as short circuit analysis, protection coordination, arc flash analysis, harmonic studies, and insulation coordination
- Coordinate with internal project teams and external engineering partners to ensure alignment with project requirements and industry standards
- Participate in design reviews, construction reviews, and project commissioning activities
- Support documentation updates, reliability improvements, and operational best practices across active projects
- Assist with engineering scopes, technical documentation, and project coordination during development and execution phases
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 7\+ years of relevant engineering experience within high-voltage electrical systems
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state
- Strong experience with substation equipment, relay protection systems, and transmission infrastructure
- Experience supporting large-scale power generation or grid-connected infrastructure projects preferred
- Familiarity with engineering software such as ETAP, CYMCAP, WinIGS, or similar analysis tools
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
