Applications Lab Technician

Leading Flavors and Fragrance company has an immediate need for an Applications Lab Tech in Fragrances

Preparation of fragrance applications in different bases meeting the needs of creative and development teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare fragrance applications in different bases meeting the needs of creative and development teams under guidance, and ensure the quality, precision and accuracy thereof.
• Act as point of contact in the lab for specific customers/projects
• Administration of sample requests and ordering of fragrance oils
• Perform physical-chemical measurements
• Help in updating and revising of technical documentation in the department, under guidance.
• Preparation of internal bases
• Perform color matching and recommend dyes as per client request
• Operate and help maintain standard lab equipment
• Record and communicate results accurately and promptly
• Management of customer base inventories and project submission retained application samples
• Assist in the administration of materials and laboratory organization.
• Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment
• Supervise and mentor other junior technicians, trainees and others
• Provide technical support to Creation and Development teams, Sales teams and to external customers by applying diverse knowledge
• Solve technical problems in the application of fragrance to product
• Study the stability and physical characteristics of fragrance formulations in product base, through physical and olfactory evaluation
• Prepare and/or perform technical talks for internal and external customers
• Network with internal contacts (S\&T and other research and development laboratories) and external contacts (Suppliers and Universities) in order to exchange and update knowledge

Academic Background

• Degree/Higher Education qualification in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering or similar subject

Professional Experience

• lab experience in related area
• Understanding of laboratory techniques as applied to perfumery
• Knowledge of Microsoft Applications

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of good laboratory practice and safe handling of chemicals
• Technical knowledge of fragrances and relevant fragrance product categories, formulation and application
• Accurate record keeping and attention to detail
• Olfactory ability
• Basic Chemistry knowledge
• Basic Perfumery knowledge
• Basic understanding of ISO protocols
• Basic knowledge of lab equipment and its safe usage
• Good Communication skills
