**Relocation to the Saint Albans, Vermont area required**

The Facility:

Northwestern Medical Center (NMC), serving a population of over 65,000, is the leading provider of health care services in Franklin and Grand Isle counties, Vermont. The 45-bed (licensed for 70), $140m net revenue hospital enterprise is a vibrant, financially evolving 501(c)(3) organization with 760 employees.

The last four CEOs have spent over 32 years building the organization and it is well positioned strategically. The NMC Board of Directors wants to build on NMC’s momentum with recognized high patient quality and appropriate, efficient, sustainable services that meet community needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a vision for the future of rural health care in Vermont.
  • Protect and strengthen relationships with clinical staff, the community, and stakeholders at the state level.
  • Guide NMC through an ever-evolving regulatory and services transforming landscape
  • Guide the organization forward to new, healthy operational and financial levels.
  • Be a respected and collaborative leader within the hospital, an active member of the community, and an effective advocate at the state level.
  • Within Vermont, hospital operating budgets are approved by The Green Mountain Care Board which regulates revenue growth. This can challenge hospital profitability and require heighten governance and leadership vision and vigilance for a sustainable and equitable health care system that promotes better health outcomes for Vermonters. https://gmcboard.vermont.gov

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 10\+ years of hospital executive leadership experience.
  • Up and coming C-Suite Executive would also be regarded highly.
  • Strong and empathetic communicator with ability to listen to and seek multiple perspectives.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large, dynamic teams through change and quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with core constituencies of the hospital.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading appropriate, efficient and sustainable growth within a community hospital’s service lines – Aligned with the hospital’s Strategic Plan.
  • Deep physician relationship and management experience.
  • Experience interfacing at the NMC Board level, providing leadership and direction with the ability to “sell the vision” throughout the organization.
  • Proven ability to be effective with elected and appointed officials.
  • Healthcare Master’s preferred but will consider a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Compensation:

  • $300,000\.00 - $400,000\.00
