Medical Laboratory Scientist - Traveler

• Location:

Grand Rapids, MI 49503

• Schedule:

Eastern 2:30 pm to 11 pm

• Pay:

$1,700 – $2,000 per week

• Duration:

5\+ Months

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field
• ASCP Certification required
• Experience with:
• Microbiology specimen processing
• Gram stains
• Positive blood cultures
• Antigen testing
• PCR testing

Job Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and analysis on patient specimens to support diagnosis and treatment.
• Follow established laboratory procedures, quality assurance standards, and safety protocols.
• Prepare reagents, maintain laboratory supplies, and manage inventory.
• Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and testing issues while ensuring accurate results.
• Assist with procedure updates and documentation to maintain CAP, TJC, and OSHA compliance.
• Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and leadership regarding patient care and operational concerns.
• Participate in competency assessments, department meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced clinical laboratory
• Exposure to biohazardous materials and laboratory chemicals
• Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
