Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Analyst to support real estate investment analysis, portfolio management, and strategic decision-making. This fully remote role is ideal for an early-career finance professional who is passionate about real estate, financial modeling, market research, and investment performance analysis. The Junior Financial Analyst will work closely with senior leadership to evaluate acquisition opportunities, monitor existing investments, and provide data-driven insights that support growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Analysis \& Financial Modeling
- Assist in evaluating residential, commercial, multifamily, industrial, and mixed-use real estate investment opportunities.
- Build and maintain financial models for acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and development projects.
- Analyze cash flow projections, investment returns, cap rates, IRR, NPV, equity multiples, and debt structures.
- Support underwriting efforts and perform sensitivity and scenario analyses.
Market Research \& Due Diligence
- Conduct market research on real estate trends, demographics, economic indicators, and competitive properties.
- Gather and analyze property-level financial data, rent rolls, operating statements, and market comparables.
- Assist with due diligence processes for prospective investments and transactions.
- Monitor industry trends and identify emerging investment opportunities.
Portfolio Performance \& Reporting
- Track portfolio performance and prepare regular investment reports and dashboards.
- Analyze operating results against forecasts and identify key performance drivers.
- Assist with investor presentations, reporting packages, and quarterly reviews.
- Support asset management initiatives by providing financial and operational insights.
Data Analysis \& Process Improvement
- Maintain investment databases and financial reporting systems.
- Develop and automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across financial models and reporting tools.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, Business, or a related field.
- 0–3 years of experience in financial analysis, investment analysis, real estate, banking, accounting, or related fields.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis.
- Understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and investment metrics.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred
- Internship or coursework related to real estate investments, private equity, commercial real estate, or financial analysis.
- Familiarity with ARGUS, CoStar, Yardi, Salesforce, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytical platforms.
- Knowledge of real estate valuation, underwriting, and capital markets.
- Experience with financial forecasting and investment reporting.
