Seeking an experienced

Director of Data Governance

to lead enterprise-wide data governance strategy within a Property \& Casualty (P\&C) insurance organization. This individual will establish governance frameworks, improve data quality and compliance, and ensure trusted data is available to support underwriting, claims, finance, risk, and analytics initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the enterprise data governance strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Establish and lead data governance councils, policies, standards, and stewardship programs.
• Define and enforce data ownership, accountability, and governance processes across business units.
• Drive improvements in data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and master data practices.
• Partner with business and technology leaders to ensure governed, trusted data supports reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, security, and audit requirements.
• Promote adoption of data governance through stakeholder engagement, training, and change management efforts.
• Collaborate with IT, Data Engineering, and Architecture teams to align governance with enterprise data platforms and strategy.

Qualifications

• 12\+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Architecture, or related disciplines.
• Experience within the

Property \& Casualty Insurance industry

strongly preferred.

• Proven success leading enterprise data governance, data transformation, or master data management initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality, metadata management, and data lineage.
• Understanding of data architecture, analytics ecosystems, and regulatory requirements related to data management.
• Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership and drive cross-functional alignment in complex organizations.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational change management skills.

Preferred

• Experience supporting underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, or risk functions.
• Familiarity with data governance platforms such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, or Microsoft Purview.
• DAMA/CDMP or related data management certification preferred.
