Director of Engineering

We primarily service our clients in the NY an NJ area as well nationally through our AAFA network (45 financial staffing affiliates throughout the U.S. and Canada).

Our client is seeking a Director of Engineering that will lead the company's engineering functions, including Tool \& Die Engineering, Tool Fabrication, Tool Maintenance, Program Management, and New Product Development. This role oversees the successful execution of engineering initiatives, drives innovation and continuous improvement, and ensures engineering strategies align with the company's overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all engineering, tooling, and technical operations to ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget, and production-ready.
• Oversee staffing, training, and performance of engineering and technical teams to ensure efficient execution of projects.
• Manage all quoting activities for new tooling programs in support of the sales team.
• Partner closely with manufacturing to ensure seamless tooling launches, engineering changes, and continuous process improvements.
• Support manufacturing by developing cost-effective tooling and production solutions.
• Drive make-or-buy decisions for tooling programs, select suppliers, and identify new technologies that improve performance and reduce costs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a medium- to high-volume progressive stamping manufacturing environment with expertise in tooling design and die building.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
