We are seeking a highly motivated

Scientist I

to join the Novel Modality Biology group within Discovery Research Immunology in Cambridge, MA. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge early drug discovery research focused on immunological diseases in a highly collaborative and innovative environment.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will support the characterization of multi-specific biologics within discovery portfolio programs by designing, conducting, and analyzing in vitro assays to address key biological questions related to immunological diseases.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of basic research and early-stage therapeutic discovery while collaborating across multidisciplinary scientific teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and analyze in vitro experiments using multi-specific biologics
  • Perform human immune cell culture and cell-based assay development
  • Isolate immune cells from human blood and tissue samples
  • Conduct and analyze multicolor flow cytometry experiments using platforms and software such as FlowJo
  • Perform ELISA/MSD assays to quantify pro-inflammatory proteins
  • Support biologic screening activities in human cell systems
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and organized laboratory notebooks and experimental documentation
  • Present scientific findings and contribute to team discussions and research strategy
  • Collaborate effectively within a dynamic, multidisciplinary research environment

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biological Sciences or related field with

2–3 years of relevant industry or laboratory experience

  • Strong background in:
  • In vitro cell culture
  • Human immunology and T cell biology
  • Multicolor flow cytometry
  • Primary human immune cell handling
  • Experience with flow cytometer operation and data analysis using FlowJo or similar software
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • ELISA/MSD assays
  • Tissue culture
  • Transfection
  • Cell line generation
  • SDS-PAGE
  • Immunoprecipitation
  • Western blotting
  • qPCR
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous record keeping
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with biologic screening in human cell systems
  • Experience supporting early drug discovery or immunology-focused research programs
