Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Molecular Biologist / Lab Associate II to join our laboratory team. This individual will be responsible for performing routine molecular laboratory testing under minimal supervision while maintaining a high standard of quality, accuracy, and organization. The ideal candidate is self-driven, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
This is a full-time, in-person position offering health benefits, paid time off, and sick leave.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine laboratory testing and related activities under minimal supervision
- Conduct DNA/RNA extraction and downstream molecular workflows
- Perform PCR and real-time PCR assays accurately and consistently
- Maintain organized, complete, and accurate laboratory records and documentation
- Support day-to-day laboratory operations, including sample handling, reagent preparation, and equipment upkeep
- Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Work collaboratively with other laboratory personnel and cross-functional team members
- Contribute to a clean, efficient, and well-organized laboratory environment
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of professional laboratory experience
- Hands-on experience with PCR, including real-time PCR
- Experience with DNA/RNA extraction techniques
- Ability to perform routine laboratory testing with a high degree of accuracy and reliability
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with LC-MS and/or GC-MS
- Familiarity with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows
- Experience with tissue culture and aseptic technique for mammalian cell lines
- Experience performing PBMC isolation.
- Experience working in a CLIA laboratory
