Salary Range:

About The Role

Topa Group is partnered with a commercial AV integrator. We are seeking an experienced

Commercial Audio Visual (AV) System Designer

to join our growing team. This is a

fully remote role

, supporting commercial AV projects located throughout

Orange County up to San Luis Obispo, CA

. Our primary project focus includes

healthcare (hospitals)

and

municipal facilities

, delivering reliable, scalable, and standards-compliant AV solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design complete commercial AV systems from concept through construction documentation
  • Develop detailed system drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD
  • Create accurate bills of materials, system configurations, and project documentation using D-Tools
  • Design and specify Crestron-based control systems, including system architecture and device selection
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, programmers, and field teams to ensure design intent is met
  • Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and coordination calls as needed
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards, client requirements, and applicable codes
  • Support projects across healthcare and municipal environments with a strong focus on reliability and long-term serviceability

Required Qualifications

  • AVIXA CTS or CTS-D certification (CTS-D strongly preferred)
  • Proven experience designing commercial AV systems
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD for AV construction drawings
  • Hands-on experience with D-Tools for system design and documentation
  • Demonstrated experience designing Crestron systems
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple projects
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience designing AV systems for hospitals, healthcare facilities, or municipal projects
  • Familiarity with California-based projects and permitting processes
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for commercial AV deployments
