Data Architect

We are currently seeking a Data Architect, in Madrid, Spain for one of our partner companies.

Data Architect

The ideal candidate is a highly technical data professional with strong experience designing scalable data architectures and modern data platforms. They combine deep knowledge of Big Data technologies with strong collaboration skills, working closely with data engineering, BI, and architecture teams to design efficient solutions. The ideal candidate can evaluate current systems, define future-state architectures, and guide teams in implementing best practices for data management and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assess the current data platform and help define the future-state architecture in collaboration with data engineering and architecture teams.
• Design scalable data solutions including data warehouses, data lakes, and modern data pipelines.
• Conduct gap analysis to identify improvements and guide implementation of the data platform roadmap.
• Stay up to date with emerging Big Data technologies and communicate relevant innovations to the team.
• Ensure best practices in data engineering, including coding standards, data accuracy, validity, and reusability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across data engineering, BI, governance, and DevOps to support architecture decisions.
• Support estimation and refinement sessions by sizing large technical initiatives.
• Contribute to project planning, architecture discussions, and peer review processes to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in data architecture, data modeling, and schema design.
• Experience designing and implementing data warehouses, data lakes, and enterprise data frameworks.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL and NoSQL).
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and building data pipelines.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Understanding of modern data stacks, streaming technologies, and large-scale data processing.
• Familiarity with data governance, lineage, metadata management, and enterprise data lifecycle practices.
• Knowledge of data security, privacy standards, and compliance frameworks.
