Job Purpose:

The People Success Generalist is a critical player on Carnegie’s People Success team, owning the day-to-day execution of the employee lifecycle with precision and care — from a new hire’s first day through their last. Working in close collaboration with the AVP, People Operations \+ Enablement, this role keeps the operational engine running: managing benefits administration, compensation data, leave, compliance, and reporting so that employees and managers can focus on the work in front of them.

You’ll work closely with Carnegie’s PEO (Insperity), bridging the gap between employee needs and external systems with accuracy and a high-touch approach. This is a role for someone who is equally detail-oriented and people-oriented — someone who takes pride in getting it right and making the experience feel effortless for the people around them.

What You’ll Own:

Employee Lifecycle Administration

  • Orchestrate the tactical execution of new hire onboarding — documentation, systems access, and Day 1 readiness — so every new team member starts strong
  • Serve as the primary internal resource for employees on benefits, payroll, 401(k), and leave questions, liaising directly with Insperity for timely and accurate resolution
  • Facilitate the administrative offboarding process, including termination documentation and exit interviews that surface actionable insights for the team

Leave \& Claims Management

  • Coordinate parental and medical leave in alignment with PEO guidelines, managing the full lifecycle with attention to detail and employee sensitivity
  • Manage unemployment claims and supporting documentation

Compensation \& Total Rewards

  • Conduct regular market benchmarking and salary survey analysis to keep Carnegie’s compensation structures competitive and current
  • Support pay equity reviews and assist with job grading and leveling for new and evolving roles, ensuring a consistent and fair hierarchy across the organization
  • Maintain clean, accurate compensation and benefits data to support reliable payroll processing in close collaboration with the Payroll Specialist

Performance \& Engagement Support

  • Manage the administrative logistics of 90-day and annual review cycles, ensuring the frameworks designed by leadership execute seamlessly across all teams
  • Support leadership in formal documentation of performance and disciplinary actions, maintaining a high standard of confidentiality and accuracy

Compliance, Reporting \& Data Integrity

  • Facilitate annual EEO-1 reporting in collaboration with Insperity and manage Massachusetts HIRD reporting for regional compliance
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready digital employee files, ensuring all status changes and documentation are current and secure
  • Prepare complex data sets for RFP requests and generate regular reporting on PTO usage and other people metrics to inform leadership decisions
  • Own version control and updates to the Employee Handbook, ensuring policy changes are accurately reflected and proactively communicated

What You Bring:

  • 3–5 years of benefits administration, compensation analysis, or HR operations experience
  • Working knowledge of the full payroll cycle and how benefits and compensation data flows into payroll processing — you understand what a clean data hand-off looks like
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, applied to data reconciliation across PEO reports, HRIS, and payroll exports
  • Experience working within a PEO model or in close collaboration with a payroll or finance team preferred
  • Familiarity with Workday HRIS a plus
  • Solid working knowledge of federal and state employment law
  • High degree of confidentiality and professional judgment — people trust you with sensitive information and you take that seriously
  • Clear, reliable communicator who collaborates effectively across People, Payroll, and Finance in a remote-first environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; SHRM, CBP, or CCP credential would be a differentiator

Why This Role:

This is a role for someone who finds genuine satisfaction in doing the operational work well — and who understands that behind every clean process is an employee who feels supported at an important moment. You’ll have real ownership, a collaborative team, and a front-row seat to how a thoughtful people function runs.
