About the Role

: The Senior Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of complex cloud, data, and application modernization initiatives. This individual serves as the primary point of coordination between Government stakeholders, technical teams, and contractor personnel, ensuring successful project delivery, technical quality, schedule adherence, and risk management. The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with hands-on knowledge of AWS cloud technologies, Agile delivery methodologies, and enterprise IT modernization programs. The individual will provide leadership across multiple workstreams while maintaining close coordination with Government technical leads and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

:

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of complex IT modernization, cloud transformation, and data platform initiatives.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate activities across cloud engineering, data engineering, application development, testing, security, and operations teams.
  • Serve as the primary interface between Government stakeholders and contractor personnel.
  • Facilitate project status meetings, technical reviews, risk assessments, and executive briefings.
  • Monitor project performance and provide timely reporting on progress, risks, mitigation plans, and key performance indicators.
  • Support Agile project management practices, including sprint planning, backlog management, release planning, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS, Federal, and organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Drive issue resolution and decision-making to maintain project schedules and delivery commitments.
  • Ensure technical quality and successful execution of project deliverables.
  • Manage multiple complex and interrelated technical initiatives simultaneously.

Qualifications

:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

Required Skills

:

  • Minimum twelve (12) years of experience managing complex information technology projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cloud, data, application development, or modernization initiatives in enterprise environments.
  • Experience managing cross-functional technical teams supporting cloud and data platforms.
  • Experience coordinating project activities with executive leadership, technical stakeholders, and Government customers.
  • Experience managing Agile software development projects and cloud-based delivery models.

Technical Qualifications

:

  • Working knowledge of AWS cloud services, cloud-native architectures, and cloud migration strategies.
  • Experience managing projects involving data engineering, analytics, modern data platforms, and data warehouse solutions.
  • Understanding of enterprise application development, system integration, testing, deployment, and operational support processes.
  • Experience managing cloud modernization, application modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong project planning, budgeting, scheduling, reporting, stakeholder management, and risk management skills.

Certifications

:

  • One of the following certifications is required:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

Preferred Skills

:

  • Experience supporting Federal Government agencies.

Additional Information

:

  • Responsible for technical quality and coordination with Government technical leads throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Available during normal hours of operation.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead geographically distributed teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
  • 12\+ years of technical project management experience supporting enterprise IT initiatives.
