Job Description

About Warp

Warp is the AI-native employee management platform that runs itself. Payroll, multi-state compliance, benefits, and IT vanish so teams never have to think about them. Trusted by 1,000+ companies.

We believe the next great companies won't add features. They'll remove work. Our AI agents navigate thousands of government portals, open state tax accounts, resolve compliance notices, and file forms upstream, before any of it ever surfaces. Companies scale from 5 to 500+ employees without adding HR headcount.

Most platforms track operations. We handle them entirely. Warp uses obsessive engineering and a philosophy of subtraction to solve complexity that others won't touch. The goal is simple: it works in the background while you build your company.

As one founder put it: "Using Warp feels like the first time I used Linear or Superhuman. The realization that payroll can just work."

Backed by $25M from Sound Ventures, Y Combinator, and the founders of Dropbox, Replit, OpenAI and Cruise. Team of ~34 from Stripe, Brex, Ramp, Google, Apple, Palantir, and MIT.

About the Role

Warp is a product-driven company building the future of automated back-office operations. We're looking for a design engineer who's excited to join our early story and help us maintain the highest quality bar possible.

As a Design Engineer at Warp, you'll be directly responsible for curating the user experience of the next generation of fintech products. You'll design core cross-platform product flows, landing pages, and marketing assets that convert prospects into customers and transform complex financial operations into seamless user journeys. Working at the intersection of design and engineering, you'll prototype user-experiences, establish design patterns that scale across our platform, and implement frontend experiences that measurably increase user satisfaction.

This role offers the rare opportunity to shape how customers experience financial technology while driving measurable business outcomes. You'll design and ship the user interfaces that make complex financial workflows intuitive, create design systems that scale across our product suite, and develop the frontend infrastructure that transforms product insights into delightful experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Core Product Design and Development: Design, build, and maintain core product design systems across web and mobile applications, ensuring consistent user experiences that scale with our rapid growth

  • Growth and Marketing Asset Design: Design social media assets, landing pages, event posters, and team merchandise that drive attention and growth while maintaining brand consistency across all touchpoints

  • Design System Evolution: Establish and maintain component libraries, design tokens, and documentation that enable consistent, efficient product development across the entire platform

  • Prototyping and Validation: Use design software and AI to rapidly prototype new features and interface concepts to validate design decisions before full implementation

  • Process and Tooling: Build internal design and development workflows that improve team velocity, from design handoff processes to automated testing for visual consistency

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with product, engineering, and sales teams to translate business requirements into elegant design solutions that balance user needs with technical constraints

  • Strategic Design Thinking: Contribute to long-term product vision by identifying opportunities to simplify complex financial workflows and reduce operational overhead for our users

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of product design and engineering experience

  • Strong expertise in product design software (pref. Figma)

  • Experience writing CSS

  • Startup or digital agency experience as a founder, early engineer, or design roles

  • An understanding of fintech product user experience

  • Excellent communication skills

  • High agency and the ability to figure things out

Compensation

On Target Earnings (OTE): $140,000–$230,000 plus equity
