Welcome to BIG W
For over 50 years, we’ve been helping Aussie families find those little wins. Who makes it all happen? Our team. They’re our biggest asset, the heart of everything we do. From new ideas to big energy and genuine care, they bring it every day, on every shift, at every shelf and in every customer moment.
We’re part of the largest Australian employer group, a community icon, and our scale opens the door to career possibilities as big as your ambition. Whether you’re on the shop floor, in one of our dynamic support offices, or a bustling distribution centre, we’ll back you to grow, make an impact, and feel proud to be part of something that truly matters.
Think you’d look good in blue? A career at BIG W could be the perfect gig for you.
‘BIG W. How good's that.’
What You'll Do
Step into a pivotal leadership role driving BIG W's "social first" approach to customer communications. Leading a talented team, you will curate compelling content, shape our social strategy, and champion the commercial value of social media across the broader business by:
- Driving organic social media strategy and execution across platforms (including Meta, TikTok, and YouTube) to drive brand engagement, traffic, and conversions, ensuring all touchpoints align with quarterly briefs and go-to-market plans.
- Overseeing content curation and short-form video creation by briefing and reviewing content while expertly navigating cultural trends to know exactly when to jump on a moment (and when to hold back).
- Managing budgets, tracking performance data, and meaningfully inputting into Post Implementation Reviews to drive continuous improvement.
- Leading and mentoring a team of three while fostering strong collaborations with internal marketing teams and external agency partners.
- Acting as an internal advocate for the power of social media in both brand building and commercialisation.
What You'll Bring
You are a confident, charismatic, and energetic marketing professional with a true "team captain" approach to leadership. You possess a highly commercial mindset and are deeply passionate about social media—not just for the trends, but as a critical, measurable driver of brand building and business results.
- Demonstrated experience managing organic social strategies and video content execution across key platforms (at least 5-7 years) with an impeccable eye for high-quality digital output.
- Exceptional analytical capabilities to interpret performance data and ROI, and a sharp intuition for what will authentically resonate with our audience.
- Proven track record of managing teams and the ability to confidently articulate the value and mechanics of social media to stakeholders at all levels, influencing both laterally and upwards in a fast-paced, complex environment.
What You'll Experience
We embrace diversity of thought and love to take on challenges with a pragmatic and innovative approach. Our culture thrives on mutual respect, care, curiosity, openness, and a proactive attitude. We continually seek ways to pair, collaborate, support, and learn from each other as a team!
- A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network
- Commitment to flexibility through a hybrid working model which combines time spent at a support office or hub and time working from home, supporting both in-person connection and balancing the flexibility that remote working provides for our teams
- A progressive and competitive leave policy that gives you more space for what matters to you, including but not limited to Study Leave and Sports Representation Leave
- Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work
