Position Overview

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Midwest Exteriors and Interiors by Midwest, ensuring projects, teams, customers, and internal processes operate efficiently and effectively. This position plays a key leadership role in coordinating operations from the sale through project completion while maintaining high standards for quality, communication, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

The Operations Manager will work closely with leadership, sales, production, installation teams, project managers, and administrative staff to ensure projects stay on schedule, operational issues are addressed quickly, and the company delivers a consistent customer experience.

The ideal candidate is an organized, accountable, solutions-oriented leader with strong communication and problem-solving skills who is comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing home improvement environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of Midwest Exteriors and Interiors by Midwest and ensure departments are working together effectively.
• Manage and coordinate project workflow from sold job through scheduling, production, installation, and completion.
• Oversee project scheduling and resource allocation to ensure crews, materials, and equipment are available when needed.
• Lead, support, and hold operations and production team members accountable for performance, productivity, quality, and professionalism.
• Monitor project timelines and proactively identify and resolve scheduling, production, material, or customer issues.
• Establish and maintain operational processes and procedures that improve efficiency, communication, and accountability.
• Work closely with sales and administrative teams to ensure accurate and timely handoff of sold projects into production.
• Coordinate communication between homeowners, project managers, installers, vendors, and internal departments.
• Monitor job quality and ensure projects are completed according to company standards and customer expectations.
• Assist with resolving customer concerns and operational issues in a professional and timely manner.
• Track operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide regular updates to company leadership.
• Help develop and implement systems, processes, and procedures as the company continues to grow.
• Monitor inventory, materials, equipment, and vendor needs to support uninterrupted production.
• Coordinate with vendors and installers as needed to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
• Ensure company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards are consistently followed.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of operations team members.
• Foster a positive, professional, team-oriented culture focused on accountability, communication, and customer satisfaction.
• Support the General Manager and ownership team with special projects and other operational initiatives as needed.

Qualifications \& Requirements

• Previous experience in operations management, production management, construction, remodeling, home improvement, or a related field.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage, coach, and hold team members accountable.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees, customers, vendors, subcontractors, and company leadership.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing organization where processes and responsibilities may continue to evolve.
• Proficiency with CRM, scheduling, project management, and other business software.
• Ability to analyze operational issues, identify solutions, and follow through to completion.
• Previous experience in the home improvement, construction, remodeling, roofing, siding, windows, doors, or bath industry is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel locally between job sites, offices, and other company locations as needed.
