Wyedean is a British manufacturer and supplier of military uniform, braid and accoutrement. With over 150 years of heritage and more than 60 years as a family business, Wyedean is a trusted supplier to the UK Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces and international defence organisations. Many of our products can be seen on ceremonial duties including Trooping the Colour. While we maintain specialist manufacturing capabilities in the UK, we also work with an established global supply chain spanning Europe and Asia. As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an organised, commercially aware and proactive Project Manager to join our management team.
The Role
This is a varied and fast-paced position responsible for managing the successful delivery of customer contracts and orders from receipt through to completion. The role will involve working closely with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, testing laboratories and Wyedean's internal teams to ensure products are delivered on time, to agreed purchase and selling prices, to specification and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will take ownership of multiple contracts and customer orders simultaneously, coordinating activities across the supply chain whilst ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage contracts and orders from receipt through to successful delivery.
- Liaise daily with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
- Coordinate purchasing activities and source new suppliers when required.
- Monitor contract and order progress to ensure products are delivered on time, to agreed purchase and selling prices and to specification.
- Review technical specifications, drawings and requirements to support contract delivery.
- Coordinate product testing, approvals and quality requirements.
- Inspect samples and production submissions against approved specifications.
- Maintain accurate contract and order records and communicate progress, risks and actions to Directors.
Skills \& Experience:
Essential
- Minimum 5\+ years’ experience managing projects, contracts, orders or programmes within a manufacturing, defence or supply chain environment.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical specifications, drawings and documentation.
- Good commercial awareness with an understanding of contract pricing and margin control.
- High level of attention to detail and administrative accuracy.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Full UK driving licence.

- Experience within defence, manufacturing, textiles, leather goods, metal products.
- Knowledge of quality systems, testing and compliance processes.
- Experience managing international suppliers and supply chains.
- Understanding of public sector or Ministry of Defence procurement.
