Job Description
Our client is an long established architecture and engineering firm looking to add a senior Mechanical Engineer to its team. This role is focused on HVAC design for building projects and offers a strong mix of hands-on engineering work and project-level responsibility.
You’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle, from evaluating existing conditions and developing designs to supporting construction and coordinating with internal teams and clients.
What the role covers:
- Designing complete mechanical HVAC systems for building projects
- Evaluating existing conditions and conducting site measure-ups
- Collaborating with clients and internal teams to define project goals
- Performing code analysis and ensuring compliance with applicable standards
- Developing engineering scope, budgets, and schedules
- Creating and coordinating Revit models using existing documentation
- Preparing engineering calculations, drawings, and contract documents
- Selecting appropriate mechanical equipment, materials, and components
- Performing technical and coordination checks of project documents
- Developing project specifications and supporting documentation
- Performing quantity take-offs and preparing cost estimates
- Staying current with mechanical codes and standards
- Reviewing submittals and conducting site visits during construction
- Supporting project management efforts and mentoring junior staff
What they’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 7\+ years of mechanical (HVAC) design experience in the A/E industry
- Strong proficiency in Revit; AutoCAD experience a plus
- EIT certification required; PE license preferred or actively in progress
- U.S. Citizenship required
