Job Summary

Performs non-technical procedures in a research laboratory and maintains laboratory facilities, equipment and records. Entry-level support role. Performs routine tasks as directed and under close supervision.

Responsibilities

Research Technician I \| Job Code S56441 \| Grade S12

  • Maintains the physical environment of the lab.
  • Prepares facility for daily use.
  • May file and maintain research records and logs of research data.
  • May handle and treat animals.

The incumbent follows well-established laboratory procedures to complete work. Sensitive or unusual situations are referred to the supervisor. Work is performed under the close supervision of senior laboratory personnel. Work is frequently reviewed for accuracy and to ensure adherence to research protocols.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT :

1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree \= 4 years of directly related work experience).
