Senior Accountant

We are partnered with an exciting nonprofit organization. The position is five days a week in the office with some flexibility as need.

• Compensation range: 80-90k

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit monthly grant reimbursement invoices in accordance with contract terms and reporting deadlines
• Record banking transactions weekly to maintain an accurate cash position
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries with supporting documentation
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain prepaid and fixed asset records; ensure amortization and depreciation are recorded
• Record grants, contributions, contract revenue, and other revenue transactions
• Monitor accounts receivable balances
• Support monthly financial close and prepare schedules for management and external stakeholders
• Serve as backup to Accounts Payable
• Maintain and update SOPs for assigned responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5\+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong GAAP knowledge
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
• Ability to self-manage, prioritize, and maintain accuracy across multiple workstreams
