Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller- and processor-based systems.
  • Develop firmware using C/C\+\+ for embedded applications.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers to integrate firmware with electronic components and peripherals.
  • Develop low-level device drivers and Board Support Packages (BSPs).
  • Implement and optimize communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, and BLE.
  • Develop and debug firmware for real-time embedded systems using RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr, VxWorks).
  • Perform firmware testing, debugging, validation, and performance optimization.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and firmware integration issues using debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
  • Participate in firmware architecture, design reviews, and code reviews.
  • Develop unit tests and support automated testing where applicable.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and test reports.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to support product releases and field issues.
  • Ensure firmware meets quality, reliability, and security standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3\+ years of experience in embedded firmware development (adjust based on role level).
  • Strong programming skills in C and C\+\+.
  • Experience with embedded microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, NXP, Microchip, Nordic, TI, Renesas, ESP32).
  • Experience with RTOS and real-time embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of embedded communication protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
  • Experience using embedded debugging tools such as JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Familiarity with firmware build systems, version control (Git), and CI/CD workflows.
  • Strong understanding of embedded system architecture, memory management, interrupts, and bootloaders.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
