Forward Deploy Engineer
Location

This role is posted on behalf of the following client
: A fast-growing SaaS company building AI-powered automation for utility operations and billing workflows for large real estate portfolios. The platform helps teams ingest invoices, detect exceptions, and streamline complex utility processes with higher accuracy and speed. The team partners closely with enterprise customers and is scaling deployments across large, multi-property environments.
Role Overview
As a Forward Deploy Engineer, this role works directly with the client’s largest customers to deploy, customize, and scale the platform across their portfolios. This position serves as the technical bridge between product/engineering and customers—deeply understanding workflows, configuring AI systems for specific utility operations, and building custom integrations where needed. This is a high-impact, customer-facing engineering role where work directly drives revenue and retention.
What You'll Do
- Lead customer onboarding and deployment by owning technical implementations, including configuring AI pipelines for invoice ingestion, exception detection, and utility billing workflows tailored to each portfolio
- Build and maintain custom integrations with property management systems (e.g., Yardi, RealPage) and other tools across the customer’s tech stack
- Debug and resolve production issues on-site or remotely to ensure customers see reliable, accurate results from day one
- Translate customer pain points and edge cases into actionable product requirements for the engineering team
- Write scripts and tooling to support data migration, transformation, and validation during customer onboarding
- Partner closely with GTM and Customer Success to support smooth handoffs and ongoing account health
- Document deployment patterns, build reusable tooling, and create runbooks to accelerate future deployments
Who You Are
- Comfortable operating in a customer-facing engineering role, owning technical deployments end-to-end and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong at debugging and production problem-solving, including diagnosing issues across data pipelines, integrations, and application behavior
- Experienced building integrations and automation tooling (e.g., scripts for data migration/validation) and working with third-party systems such as property management platforms
