About The Role

Tidal Cyber is seeking a highly skilled Principal Frontend Engineer to lead and enhance our SaaS platform's frontend architecture. This role is pivotal in driving the technical direction of our user interface, ensuring that our platform remains scalable, performant, and user-centric as we scale rapidly. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of React and TypeScript, capable of making strategic technical decisions while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality features swiftly. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, partnering closely with design and product teams to translate concepts into seamless user experiences. As a key member of the engineering team, you will have the autonomy to build from scratch, establish best practices, and mentor engineers, all while contributing to the company's growth and engineering culture.

Qualifications

• 8\+ years of experience developing modern web applications with a focus on frontend technologies
• Deep expertise in React and TypeScript
• Strong product instincts with a focus on user experience (UX)
• Proven track record of owning and scaling frontend systems in early-stage or high-growth startups
• Ability to make decisions quickly and iterate based on feedback and data
• Solid understanding of frontend performance optimization, state management, and architecture tradeoffs
• Experience working collaboratively with designers and backend engineers in small, agile teams
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas and bring others along
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in ambiguous environments

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the frontend architecture and codebase using React, ensuring scalability, speed, and maintainability
• Develop and ship features end-to-end, balancing rapid delivery with high-quality standards
• Collaborate closely with design and product teams to transform ideas into polished, user-friendly interfaces
• Establish effective patterns, tooling, and best practices to streamline development processes without over-engineering
• Identify and address technical debt strategically to improve system health and performance
• Mentor and guide engineering team members through hands-on coding and technical leadership
• Contribute to shaping the engineering culture as the team grows, promoting best practices and continuous learning
