Full-Stack Engineer (4 - 8 Years Experience)

Role Overview

Pluto is a fintech platform unlocking liquidity by lending against Alternative Assets - Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Private Credit. Backed by leading fintech investors and a Tier 1 Private Equity Fund, we’re building embedded infrastructure for wealth managers and investment platforms to offer flexible credit to their clients. We’re a lean, fast-moving team in midtown Manhattan. We ship quickly, cut through red tape, and embed AI in how we build, work, and make decisions. We’re looking for an experienced Full-Stack Engineer (4 - 8 years) to help us scale out our core systems and integrate with premier wealth platforms to help our partners power embedded lending for the private wealth ecosystem. With our CTO and principal engineer, you’ll own key technical deliverables across the application stack, work closely with our business and product teammates, and help reliably scale our infrastructure as we grow. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment and understands the technical and regulatory challenges of building financial products in the cloud.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of secure, scalable, cloud-native applications across the stack
• Work with partner technology teams to integrate with their external data providers and platforms.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and contribute to overall data architecture.
• Deliver improvements to our AWS architecture on AWS, including ECS (Fargate), Cognito, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.
• Implement secure patterns aligned with SOC 2 and financial industry best practices for API and infrastructure design.
• Collaborate with design, product, and business teams to deliver new features, automate workflows, and unblock partner integrations.
• Contribute to internal tools, admin dashboards, and developer experience improvements.
• Embed AI into your workflow where it improves efficiency or product value.

Qualifications

• 4 - 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven full-stack development experience using Python, TypeScript, React, and modern backend frameworks (e.g., Flask, Node.js).
• Hands-on experience with major AWS managed services like ECS, Aurora RDS, Cognito and SNS/SQS
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, popular authentication/authorization frameworks and best practices like JWT and OAuth.
• Experience with ORM frameworks like Sequelize
• Familiarity with compliance and security standards in fintech (SOC2, PCI-DSS, encryption, access control).
• Experience deploying production systems using CI/CD, GitHub Actions, and Infrastructure as Code (Cloud Formation/CDK a plus).
• High autonomy, action bias, and ownership mentality - you build systems to last, not just to ship.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience in fintech, private markets, or lending.
• Experience with AI tools or basic ML concepts.
• AWS/GCP certifications or experience with Infrastructure as Code
