Job Description
Company Description
Anivive is transforming pet healthcare by uniting expertise in software development, veterinary medicine, and clinical research to bring innovative therapeutics to market. The company leverages cutting-edge technology to accelerate the development of solutions that improve the health and well-being of pets. At Anivive, the focus is on combining scientific research with smart technology to make pet healthcare more efficient and impactful. Located in Long Beach, CA, Anivive is dedicated to creating a smarter approach to pet health. T
oday, only 15% of pet diseases have an approved treatment. Anivive exists to change that.
Role Description
You will work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to build the digital experiences that support our mission—from clinical trial platforms and veterinary-facing tools to patient engagement products and internal applications. Your primary focus will be architecting and building exceptional front-end interfaces using Next.js and TypeScript. However, we believe in end-to-end ownership; you will also be empowered to dive into our Node.js (Moleculer) microservices to build or modify the APIs needed to support your front-end features.
This is a role for a developer who has moved beyond the fundamentals and is ready to take ownership of meaningful work as a collaborative, accountable member of a cross-functional team. We are an ambitious company approaching a significant period of growth, and our technology team is growing with us. That means the landscape evolves, priorities shift, and the way we build today will not always be the way we build tomorrow. You will need to be comfortable with that ambiguity—adaptable, pragmatic, and energized by the opportunity to help shape how we scale. In return, your contributions will have genuine visibility and impact in a team where good ideas are heard regardless of where they come from.
Qualifications
- Core Front-End Expertise:
Deep, proven proficiency in building modern, responsive, and accessible web applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and CSS/SCSS.
- Back-End Capability:
Strong working knowledge of Node.js and server-side architecture. You must be comfortable navigating, modifying, and building API endpoints within a microservices framework (experience with Moleculer is a massive plus).
- Full-Stack Integration:
A solid understanding of how to manage state, data fetching, and seamless integration between a Next.js client and distributed back-end systems.
- Engineering Practices:
Strong background in modern software development lifecycles, including version control, testing, debugging, and deploying within containerized (Docker/Kubernetes) cloud environments.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical engineering experience.
- Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving capabilities, clear communication skills, and a proven track record of thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment where you aren't afraid to jump into unfamiliar code to get a feature shipped.
