Job Description
You’ll be the first full-time engineering hire, laying the technical foundation for an AI-powered platform redefining how elite athletes monitor health, recovery, and performance.
This is a ground-floor opportunity. You won’t be slotting into an existing system, you’ll be defining it. Product direction, architecture decisions, engineering standards, tooling… it’s all on the table from day one.
You’ll work directly with the founders and a team of PhD scientists from Cornell to build a platform that tracks inflammation, recovery signals, and biological performance data for professional athletes and sports organizations. The goal is simple but ambitious: give teams real-time, actionable insight into how to keep athletes performing at their peak.
The company has been around for about a year and has used an agency to build the first functional version of their product. It’s in a good place, but now they want to hire their first engineer to take over, improve it, and bring the technology in-house:
- Bring the IP in-house
- Oversee agency work
On the technical side, you’ll need strong TypeScript skills, solid experience with React Native for mobile development, and backend proficiency with Node.js and API design. You won’t just use the stack, you’ll help define how it evolves as the product scales.
Comp is up to $300,000 base depending on experience, plus meaningful equity.
If you’re looking for structure, process, and a large engineering org, this won’t be a fit.
