Description

The HR Generalist is a key member of the Koroseal Human Resources team, providing hands-on support across the employee lifecycle and helping create a positive, productive, and engaging workplace. This position partners with employees, leaders, and HR team members to support recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, training, compliance, performance management, and day-to-day HR operations.

The ideal candidate is approachable, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing employee needs with business priorities. This role requires someone who can build trusted relationships, maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

The HR Generalist will help ensure HR processes are consistent, compliant, efficient, and aligned with Koroseal's culture and business objectives. This position reports to the Manager, HR and is based onsite at our Medina Corporate Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and leaders, providing guidance on workplace questions, policies, procedures, and employee concerns.
  • Partner with managers and supervisors to evaluate and address employee relations matters, attendance concerns, performance issues, and workplace conflicts.
  • Provide guidance to managers on the interpretation and consistent application of HR policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Support employee investigations, corrective actions, and related documentation while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Manage recruiting and onboarding activities, including candidate coordination, new hire paperwork, orientation, and required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely employee records in the HRIS throughout the employee lifecycle, including hires, employee changes, leaves, benefits, and terminations.
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including enrollments, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and employee questions.
  • Administer employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, disability, and other applicable leave programs.
  • Coordinate employee offboarding, including required documentation, HRIS updates, benefit notifications, and separation activities.
  • Assist managers with performance management, coaching, corrective action, and related documentation.
  • Exercise judgment in handling day-to-day HR matters and escalate complex or sensitive issues to HR leadership as appropriate.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and ensure required employment documentation and records are properly maintained.
  • Stay informed of changes in employment regulations and HR best practices.
  • Support HR projects, process improvements, employee engagement initiatives, and other HR programs as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills \& Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2\+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or similar hands-on work environment.
  • Working knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, recruiting, benefits, onboarding, and employment compliance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance employee needs and business requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with an HRIS, timekeeping, recruiting, or applicant tracking system.
  • Experience with benefits administration and open enrollment.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Experience supporting employee engagement, training, or organizational development initiatives
  • Must be able to walk and sit for long periods of time, ability to lift up to 20lbs safely
