As a Group Manager of Brand Marketing – Brand Strategy \& Experience, you lead work that shapes the long-term future of the Starbucks brand while ensuring it shows up clearly and consistently in the world today. In this highly visible leadership role, you define brand direction, build enduring brand foundations, and guide how those ideas are activated across experiences, touchpoints, and moments that matter to customers.

You operate at the intersection of strategy, business, creativity, and execution, influencing across a complex organization to ensure the brand remains relevant, coherent, and unmistakably Starbucks. You are a trusted thought partner to senior leaders, a strong people leader, and a steward of one of the world’s most iconic brands.

**Strategic Leadership \& Brand Vision**

  • Develop and steward long-term brand strategy, ensuring clarity, consistency, and relevance across the enterprise.
  • Build and evolve a multi-year brand roadmap that aligns business priorities with brand ambition and customer needs.
  • Translate strategy into clear frameworks, principles, and guidance that teams around the world can confidently activate.
  • Identify future opportunities for growth and evolution, helping shape where the brand should go next.

**End-to-end Brand Expression \& Activation**

  • Elevate the Starbucks brand across touchpoints by bringing our new brand world and brand expression to life across the enterprise and around the world.
  • Lead the translation of brand strategy into clear direction that enables consistent, high-quality expression across markets, platforms, and moments.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure brand expression shows up powerfully and cohesively in customer experiences.
  • Continuously assess how the brand is showing up in the world and evolve approaches to strengthen relevance, resonance, and long-term brand equity.

**Cross-Functional Leadership \& Influence**

  • Drive alignment across Marketing, Product, Studio, Operations, and Global partners to deliver cohesive brand experiences.
  • Lead through influence in a matrixed organization, building trust and momentum across diverse stakeholders.
  • Present brand strategy, roadmaps, and recommendations to senior leadership with clarity and confidence.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams to support a unified, elevated brand experience.

**Leadership, Team Development \& Culture**

  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team, providing mentorship, guidance, and development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of belonging, creativity, and accountability, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Model leadership behaviors grounded in Starbucks Mission and Values, promoting integrity, respect, and excellence.
  • Drive team engagement and performance, celebrating achievements and cultivating a shared passion for brand building.

We’d Love To Hear From People With

  • 6–10\+ years of progressive experience in marketing, product, or brand management, with a proven track record of driving business growth.
  • 3\+ years of experience leading and developing teams, with demonstrated success in managing people, developing talent, and fostering high performance.
  • Skilled in setting strategic direction and translating insights into actionable marketing plans that influence customer behavior at scale.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders in fast-paced, matrixed environments.
  • Executive-level communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and drive alignment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.
  • Adept at navigating ambiguity and making high-impact decisions under pressure.
  • Deep understanding of consumer behavior, market dynamics, and brand positioning to inform long-term strategy.

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
