Head of Engineering

Our customers are using us to replace decade-old custom systems, eliminate manual data entry, and finally get their core operations running on something they can trust.

Role Description

You will run engineering at Pivotly. You'll own the team that turns architecture into product — leading delivery, hiring, technical operations, and team development. You'll work closely with our CEO (a 30-year enterprise software architect who designed the platform) on technical strategy, but the day-to-day of how engineering operates, ships, and scales is yours and report to our CTO.

This is a leadership role for someone who's been a strong engineer, has run a team before, and is ready to own engineering for a company at the inflection point between "we have a working product" and "we're a platform that scales."

Qualifications

• 8\+ years engineering experience, with at least 3 years leading or managing engineering teams
• Track record of shipping production software in a B2B SaaS or enterprise environment
• Deep experience with our stack or close adjacents: Node.js / TypeScript, PostgreSQL, React/Next.js, Docker, cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP fine)
• You've owned a complex codebase end-to-end — architecture, delivery, ops
• Proven ability to manage and scale engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in AI or emerging technologies is a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
