Job Description

Head – Sales and Marketing

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership \& Business Development

  • Lead and oversee all sales initiatives across weddings, corporate, social, and community events, driving overall revenue performance and departmental success
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans, including outbound sales efforts, market expansion, and targeted corporate business development
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key corporate clients, local businesses, and community partners to generate repeat and referral business
  • Establish and monitor monthly and annual revenue goals, holding the team accountable to performance metrics and conversion targets
  • Oversee all incoming inquiries, ensuring timely, professional responses and a high-touch client experience from initial contact through booking
  • Represent the property at industry events, networking functions, and off-site activations to promote brand awareness and secure new business opportunities

Client Experience \& Revenue Management

  • Guide high-level client relationships, particularly for corporate and high-value events, ensuring a seamless and elevated experience
  • Oversee proposal development, pricing strategy, and contract negotiations to maximize profitability while aligning with client needs
  • Ensure consistency in sales processes, brand standards, and communication across the department
  • Partner with marketing to develop campaigns that drive lead generation, increase visibility, and support revenue goals

Event Strategy \& Department Oversight

  • Direct the planning and execution of all events, ensuring alignment between sales, operations, culinary, and service teams
  • Oversee the development of event timelines, floor plans, and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), ensuring accuracy and operational excellence
  • Establish departmental workflows and systems that improve efficiency, communication, and execution standards
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the events and catering team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence

Corporate \& Social Event Execution

  • Lead strategy and execution for corporate events, meetings, retreats, and large-scale social functions, with a focus on growth in the corporate segment
  • Oversee all event logistics including layout, catering flow, audiovisual needs, décor, and guest experience
  • Act as executive-level support on event days, ensuring seamless execution and stepping in to resolve any high-level challenges

Catering \& Food \& Beverage Collaboration

  • Partner with the Executive Chef and culinary team to design elevated, customized menus that enhance the overall guest experience
  • Oversee food and beverage offerings, pricing structures, and upselling strategies to increase per-person spend and profitability
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and service standards across all events

Operational Management \& Financial Oversight

  • Maintain oversight of CRM systems (Tripleseat) to ensure accurate reporting, forecasting, and client management
  • Monitor departmental budgets, manage cost controls, and ensure profitability across all events
  • Review post-event reporting, invoicing, and client feedback to continuously improve processes and performance
  • Oversee inventory management for event equipment, rentals, and supplies

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in event management, catering coordination, or hospitality — winery or luxury hospitality experience a plus
  • Proven track record managing weddings from initial enquiry through to day-of execution
  • Knowledge of catering operations, banquet procedures, and restaurant or hotel experience is highly desirable

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills — telephone, email, and in person — with the ability to speak clearly and concisely
  • Extreme attention to detail, follow-up, and follow-through with a commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Strong wine knowledge, or genuine enthusiasm to develop it

Practical Requirements

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
  • Ability to work across various environments including indoor/outdoor event spaces

Pay: $55,000\.00 - $60,000\.00 per year
