High School Integrated Science Teacher

Role Description

The High School Science Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Sacramento, CA. This role is responsible for planning and delivering standards-based science lessons, including subjects such as physics and environmental science, that engage students and support college readiness. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing curriculum, preparing instructional materials, assessing student learning, and using data to inform instruction. The teacher will manage classroom behavior, provide academic and social-emotional support, collaborate with colleagues and families, and participate in professional development, school events, and extracurricular activities as needed. The role involves maintaining high expectations for all students, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment, and supporting St. HOPE’s mission and core pillars.

Qualifications

• Strong instructional skills in lesson planning and curriculum development for high school science courses.
• Content expertise in science aligned with college-preparatory standards.
• Effective communication skills for engaging students, collaborating with colleagues, and partnering with families.
• Valid teaching credential or license for secondary science (or eligibility to obtain), and a bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrated ability to use assessment data to drive instruction, maintain high expectations, and support diverse learners.
• Commitment to equity, culturally responsive teaching, and creating an inclusive, respectful classroom environment.
• Experience in urban education or public charter schools is beneficial, along with participation in ongoing professional development.
