Summary

Provide human resources assistance, service and guidance within one or more areas of responsibility: compensation, benefits, employee relations, recruitment and retention, or other areas as assigned. May be assigned as a generalist providing a full range of services to a group of departments or a specialist, providing services in one or more areas for the entire organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform full cycle recruiting; including job posting, candidate screening, interviews (phone and in-person), candidate selection and job offer.
  • Coordinate and lead orientation for new hires, including scheduling of orientation, compiling of company materials for orientation, scheduling drug screen/physical, providing training in the areas of sexual harassment, compensation/payroll and benefits. Create, update and modify orientation materials when necessary.
  • Assist with Investigations for employee issues, concerns, and complaints. Make recommendations to leadership for resolution.
  • Maintain consistent production floor visits by touring the production floor on a daily basis.
  • Assist employees with STD, LTD and FMLA and other forms. Keep records with regards to all. Explain human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards or regulations.
  • Address issues or concerns that Employees may have in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Payroll department to maintain Time-Keeping and Leave Management sytems. Maintain employee paperwork and filing.
  • Compile, analyze and report on HR data utilizing HRIS and other software programs as necessary.
  • Assist department managers with the application of annual performance review system for their Employees.
  • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software
  • Perform tasks and activities associated with employee relations/special events
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Specifications

  • Possess a strong desire to learn human resource practices, procedures and disciplines.
  • Ability to successfully use Microsoft software products such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint for database, word processing, presentation preparation and reporting purposes.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or related degree required.
  • Must possess a general knowledge of Human Resources laws and practices.
  • Personal computer experience in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, required.

Position requires the ability to read, write, speak and understand English at a level necessary to successfully perform assigned responsibilities. Ability to utilize/operate a computer, peripheral equipment and appropriate software. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
