About the Role:

The Human Resource Generalist plays a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the employee lifecycle within the organization, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. This position is responsible for fostering a positive work environment through effective employee relations and conflict resolution. The role involves administering comprehensive benefits programs and overseeing performance management processes to support employee development and organizational goals. The Human Resource Generalist also ensures accurate maintenance of personnel records and facilitates affirmative action initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion. Ultimately, this position contributes to building a productive, compliant, and engaged workforce that aligns with the company’s strategic objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a human resources generalist role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations applicable in the United States.
  • Proven experience with employee relations, benefits administration, and performance management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with affirmative action plan development and implementation.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and payroll software.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to employees and management.
  • Administer benefits programs including enrollment, communication, and problem resolution.
  • Coordinate and implement affirmative action plans to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Conduct job analyses and assist in developing compensation programs to maintain competitive and equitable pay structures.
  • Oversee disciplinary procedures and performance management processes, including conducting performance reviews and coaching managers.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement HR policies and procedures that support organizational goals.
  • Support recruitment efforts by assisting with job postings, screening candidates, and onboarding new hires.
