. The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Human Resources (OHR) is seeking candidates for the position of Human Resources Analyst 2 (Background Analyst). This position is located in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia .

Job Description
Pay grade: H
Under general supervision, the Human Resources Analyst 2 (Background) participates in full-cycle recruiting by conducting background screenings, verifications, and candidate onboarding checks.
Role And Responsibilities
- Initiates and reviews criminal background checks in coordination with the DHS Office of Inspector General.
- Verifies educational credentials through the National Student Clearinghouse and directly with colleges and universities.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts to conduct searches in child welfare database systems to confirm there is no adverse history.
- Initiates and reviews Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks.
- Initiates the drug testing process and reviews results in Vault.
- Reviews prior government employment status.
- Partners with Recruiters, HRGs, and Compliance Management as needed.
- Creates and maintains background screening reports and documentation.
- Maintains ongoing communication with hiring managers and applicants regarding the status of checks.
- Conducts pre-vetting and Employee Relations reviews to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Performs other professional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED AND four (4) years of experience performing human resources job-related functions;
OR
- One (1) year of experience required at the lower level HR Analyst 1 (HRP050) or position equivalent.

An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following education/skills/experience:
- Prior experience with NeoGov, PeopleSoft, Workday or other HR Information System \& Applicant Tracking System.
