This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to contribute to a highly regulated and detail-oriented environment focused on compliance, employee benefits, and operational excellence. The position plays a key role in ensuring adherence to employment laws, government regulations, and internal HR policies while supporting benefits administration and audit readiness. You will collaborate across HR, accounting, and operational teams to improve processes, manage reconciliations, and maintain accurate compliance reporting. Ideal candidates are analytical, organized, and comfortable handling sensitive information while balancing multiple priorities. This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys combining compliance expertise, data analysis, and employee support in a collaborative and mission-driven workplace.
Accountabilities
- Manage and support employee benefits administration, including health, welfare, retirement, and risk-related programs.
- Conduct audits, reconciliations, and reporting activities related to benefits, PTO, Service Contract Act (SCA), and compliance initiatives.
- Coordinate with accounting and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting, reconciliations, and process alignment.
- Support compliance programs related to federal and state employment laws, including I-9/E-Verify, workers’ compensation, leave laws, and retirement plan testing.
- Maintain documentation, controls, and reporting processes required for government audits and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with open enrollment processes, wellness initiatives, and benefits evaluations to improve employee experience and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and maintain workers’ compensation classifications and travel-related compliance tracking.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR compliance systems, workflows, and internal processes through strategic recommendations and remediation planning.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, benefits administration, HR compliance, compensation, or risk management.
- Strong background in auditing, reconciliations, and data analysis, with accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with HR and benefits systems such as Paylocity, bSwift, and Procas.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong overall proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of employment laws, regulatory requirements, and compliance reporting obligations.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels.
- U.S. Citizenship required due to customer and compliance-related requirements.
- Relevant education and experience combination required, including a high school diploma, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or master’s degree paired with applicable professional experience.
