Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources professional with a strong background supporting multi‑state, multi‑site operations across a wide range of HR functions. Skilled in leave administration, employee relations, investigations, performance management, and benefits oversight. This is an onsite position in Farmington Hills, MI.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support leave administration for FMLA, disability, workers’ compensation, military, and personal leaves, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as internal policies
  • Maintain accurate and timely leave documentation
  • Communicate approved leaves and return‑to‑work updates to supervisors and employees
  • Assist in identifying and resolving HR compliance issues and recommending departmental process improvements
  • Guide managers through performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and other corrective measures
  • Conduct employment‑related investigations and document findings
  • Ensure proper documentation is maintained for all employee actions
  • Coordinate and support the employee termination process
  • Partner with employees and management to resolve workplace issues
  • Assist with benefits administration and invoice processing
  • Provide backup support for payroll and benefits functions as needed
  • Support the annual employee performance review process
  • Participate in new‑hire onboarding activities
  • Process unemployment claims and appeals; coordinate and participate in unemployment hearings
  • Provide administrative and operational support to HR leadership
  • Contribute to special projects and perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of Human Resources experience; multi‑state or multi‑site experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred
  • 2–3 years of benefits administration experience
  • 2–3 years of workers’ compensation and disability claims administration experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer‑service mindset
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational, time‑management, and follow‑through abilities
  • Ability to multitask effectively and collaborate in a fast‑paced environment
