About the Role:
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team. This position will support a wide range of HR functions, including employee relations, recruiting, benefits administration, compliance, and employee engagement. The HR Generalist will serve as a resource to employees and managers while helping to support a positive, compliant, and people-focused work environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Process employee lifecycle transactions in the HRIS—including new hire onboarding, job changes, leaves of absence, terminations—and maintain, audit, and report on HR data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational integrity.
- Serve as a primary HR point of contact for employees, responding to routine questions and requests, routing or escalating issues as appropriate.
- Support the consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and programs across a multi-state workforce.
- Own the Leave of Absence (LOA) process end-to-end for assigned regions, including coordination with the third-party administrator (TPA), tracking, communication, and documentation.
- Apply employment law fundamentals, research requirements as needed, and escalate compliance or risk-related questions appropriately.
- Provide employee relations support through documentation assistance, policy interpretation, and fact-gathering, escalating complex or sensitive matters to HR leadership.
- Coordinate recruiting activities, including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and preparation of offer materials.
- Own HR-related hiring and onboarding tasks once a candidate is selected, including Paycom setup, new-hire communications, system access coordination, and first-day readiness.
- Support employee wellness and engagement activities including planning and execution.
- Participate in HR projects and other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business or HR-related degree preferred)
- 3\+ years of human resources experience required
- Working knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws
- Experience in a multi-state retail environment (or similar) with a high volume of hourly employees
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive employee relations matters
- Familiarity with an HRIS platform is required (Paycom is a plus)
