COMPANY: Investment Firm

POSITION: Human Resources Generalist

LOCATION: New York, NY (hybrid; 4 days onsite)

COMPENSATION: $150-200K range DOE \+ bonus eligibility \+ comprehensive benefits

HOURS: 8:30am – 5:30pm (flexibility as needed)

BACHELOR’S DEGREE: Required

Our client is a quantitative investment firm with locations all over the world. They are building their HR/People function from the ground up - and looking for smart, adaptable team players who want to shape the future of HR at a high-performance organization. This is an exceptional opportunity for an HR professional to contribute to People strategy and operations while supporting a critical organizational transition. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, loves solving operational challenges, and wants to leverage their HR operations expertise while working with brilliant colleagues. You'll help shape strategy, people processes, and people operations and roll up your sleeves on day-to-day execution to enable organizational success.

Responsibilities of the HR Generalist:

Strategic \& Operational Partnership

-Help shape the identity and strategy of the People function – ensuring People efforts ensure and enable a thriving, future-ready workforce

-Help translate strategic goals into actionable plans, enable the execution of those plans, track and communicate progress, and recommend adjustments as needed

-Manage projects as needed

HR Operations \& Employee Experience

-Own core HR operations in the US, especially onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, and HRIS data accuracy

-Provide frontline HR support to US employees, responding to policy questions, troubleshooting benefits and payroll issues, advising and/or leading on employee relations matters, and ensuring employees feel heard and supported

-Partner with external vendors and internal teams on benefits administration, compliance, and payroll coordination

-Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and employee experience

Talent, Culture \& Engagement

-Support the design and execution of talent development, performance management, and employee engagement systems, processes, and programs

-Help reinforce values and culture through thoughtful employee communications and initiatives

-Partner with leaders to address employee relations matters with sound judgment and discretion

Spinout Readiness \& Special Projects

-Support spinout transition activities such as auditing employee data, coordinating with Legal on contracts, ensuring benefits and payroll readiness, and assisting with employee communications

-Contribute to improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to eliminate friction points, leverage automation and AI tools, and create scalable systems to support organizational growth

-Build self-service resources and documentation, creating wikis, FAQs, guides, and templates that empower employees to find answers independently while reducing repetitive inquiries to the People team

-Flex into emerging priorities as the People function evolves, demonstrating adaptability and initiative to take on additional responsibilities in strategically important areas

Requirements of the HR Generalist:

-5-8 years of experience in People Operations, HR Generalist, or similar role, ideally within financial services

-Strong HRIS experience, including hands-on involvement in system selection, implementation, and integrations

-Demonstrated experience redesigning and improving onboarding processes end-to-end

-Solid understanding of HR operations, policies, and employee lifecycle best practices

-High attention to detail with strong organizational and process-management skills

-Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment

-High degree of discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive information
