About XCT Solutions
XCT Solutions is a Mumbai-based system integration company building IT infrastructure and technology solutions for clients. As we scale beyond a 12–15 member team, we're hiring our first dedicated HR Generalist to build the People function from the ground up — someone who can wear multiple hats, bring structure without bureaucracy, and grow into a People leadership role as we expand.
What You'll Own
Talent Acquisition \& Workforce Planning
End-to-end hiring for technical (engineers, system integrators, support staff) and non-technical roles — sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer rollout. Build repeatable hiring processes, JD templates, and a talent pipeline for IT/technical hiring specifically. Plan manpower needs with founders for the next 6–12 months. Manage candidate experience and basic employer branding (LinkedIn, Naukri, referrals).
Onboarding \& Culture
Design a structured onboarding flow for technical and field staff. Build a culture that fits a client-facing, project-driven IT services business — ownership, reliability, and technical pride. Run engagement activities and internal communication that don't feel like "corporate HR" for a 15-person team.
HR Operations \& Lifecycle Management
Attendance, leave, and HR documentation (offer letters, NDAs, contracts, confirmations). Coordinate payroll inputs and help structure compensation bands appropriate for IT/technical talent in Mumbai. Build lightweight policies and SOPs that scale with the company (not a 200-page handbook nobody reads).
Compliance \& Statutory
Ensure compliance with PF, ESIC, Shops \& Establishments Act, and Maharashtra labour law specifics. Set up and run the POSH Committee. Manage background verification for client-facing/technical hires (often required in system integration contracts). Build a fair, simple appraisal and bonus framework.
Employee Relations \& Retention
First point of contact for grievances and concerns. Regular 1:1s and pulse checks — especially important for field/on-site engineers who are less visible day-to-day. Flag attrition risk early, particularly for billable technical staff.
Strategic Support to Founders
Hiring dashboards, attrition insights, team health updates. Implement an HRMS (Keka/Zoho People/BambooHR) suited to a services business with site-deployed staff. Support org design as the company scales 15 → 30 → 75\+.
Who We're Looking For
- 2–5 years HR experience, ideally in IT services, system integration, or another technical/project-based SME — not just corporate HR.
- Has hired technical/engineering talent before, or is comfortable learning to.
- Strong ownership instinct — comfortable building processes from zero, not just maintaining existing ones.
- Practical understanding of Indian labour law and statutory compliance.
- Clear communicator who can work directly with founders and technical leads.
Nice to Have
- Experience in IT/ITES, systems integration, or B2B technical services companies.
- Familiarity with managing HR for a mix of office staff and on-site/field deployed engineers.
- Exposure to building employer branding for technical hiring in a competitive IT talent market.
