About The Role
The HR Generalist II at RELI Group plays a vital role in supporting the company's human resources functions through a hands-on approach. This position is responsible for administering core HR programs, ensuring compliance with employment laws, managing employee lifecycle processes such as onboarding and offboarding, and supporting payroll, benefits, and HRIS administration. The role involves responding to employee and manager inquiries, assisting with talent development initiatives, and supporting HR projects that promote a positive and compliant workplace culture. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of HR best practices, experience with government contracting, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2 – 4 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator role
- Working knowledge of employment laws (FLSA, EEO, FMLA, etc.) and HR best practices
- Experience in government contracting required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and data management
- Experience using HRIS systems (Paycom preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to create and facilitate training materials and presentations
- Familiarity with visa and work authorization administrative support
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting multi-state and/or remote workforces
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP) is a plus
- Availability to work onsite in Windsor Mill, MD and/or Tysons Corner, VA 1–2 days per week, as needed
Responsibilities
- Assist managers and employees with day-to-day HR processes and general HR-related inquiries
- Support talent initiatives, including performance management cycles, employee surveys, talent development, and compliance training
- Administer employee offboarding processes and provide backup support for onboarding and orientation activities
- Support benefits and compensation programs, including reconciling benefit-related invoices
- Maintain payroll spreadsheets, audit payroll registers, and track payroll-related changes throughout the pay period
- Coordinate leave administration, including FMLA, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation
- Support visa and work authorization processes, including documentation, compliance, and tracking for employees
- Generate standard HR reports and support data requests from management
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation within the HRIS system
- Support recruiting activities for select roles, as needed
- Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Perform other HR-related duties as assigned to support organizational goals
