Job Description
About Ace It Academics:
Ace It Academics is a Brooklyn-based tutoring center that helps students achieve their highest academic performance through customized lessons, rather than a traditional “one size fits all” system. While being in business for 12 years, teaching over 7,000 students, and maintaining a 96% parent satisfaction rate, we are known for delivering substantial academic results while guiding students to build an innovative mindset for the external world.
Your Role:
We’re seeking a confident, engaging, and highly skilled in-person SAT Math Tutor to join our team.
This is not your average tutoring job. SAT students are preparing for a high-stakes exam that can directly impact their college and career opportunities, and parents invest in us because they expect real progress, stronger test scores, and clear communication. Students show up because they need someone who can build their confidence, teach successful strategies, and help them improve their score.
You won’t just be teaching math. You’ll be coaching students through one of the most important academic preparation periods of their lives. This is a high-impact position where your ability to explain clearly, build confidence, manage a classroom, and create measurable progress is just as important as your math knowledge.
We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of student growth, build trust with parents, and create a positive, structured, results-driven learning environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Teach in-person SAT Math classes in small-group settings (2-8 students) and 1-on-1 private lessons.
- Break down SAT math concepts into simple, understandable steps.
- Teach key test-taking strategies, including pacing, elimination methods, shortcut techniques, and time management.
- Help students improve accuracy, speed, confidence, and problem-solving ability.
- Evaluate student performance during lessons and adjust instruction based on individual weaknesses.
- Identify gaps in foundational math skills and create targeted strategies to close those gaps.
- Prepare students for high-pressure test environments by building confidence and reducing test anxiety.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with parents to provide updates and build trust.
- Create an engaging, structured, and motivating learning environment.
- Act not just as an instructor, but as a mentor and role model who helps students take their academic goals seriously.
- Maintain a professional, presentable appearance that aligns with the expectations of parents and students.
