Job Summary
Information Systems Architects
Design, implement, and maintain the organization’s information systems and IT infrastructure. Provide an architectural framework for information system development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts. Understand user and process requirements and ensure those requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables. Work closely with developers and engineers to develop road maps for applications, align development plans, and to ensure effective integration among information systems and the IT infrastructure. Monitor technological advancements to ensure that solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards as well as emerging business requirements. Understand the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions. Analyze systems and perform usability testing to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, test and deploy cloud architecture in AWS to support UAIR operations.
- Serve as the cloud architect subject-matter expert for UAIR .
- Configure and manage UAIR VPC and other networking configurations in AWS .
- Work closely with the data management team ETL to deploy AWS ETL services such as Glue, AirFlow, Step functions, Lamda etc.
- Manage infrastructure for an on-premises Tableau Server – connecting to AWS data.
- Work closely with UIT to establish and maintain a secure platform. Configure and deploy AWS IAM roles and polices to enable secure access.
- Enable and support UAIR operations in AWS SageMaker Unified Studio.
- Ensure redundancy and backup for all services.
- Use prior knowledge and creativity to troubleshoot and solve technical issues as they arise.
- Keep up to date with developments on current cloud computing solutions and processes.

Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree \= 4 years of directly related work experience).

Information Systems Architect, II: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) \+ 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) \+ 2 years of directly related work experience.
Information Systems Architect, III : Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) \+ 6 years or a master’s (or equivalency) \+ 4 years of directly related work experience.
Information Systems Architect, IV: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) \+ 8 years or a master’s (or equivalency) \+ 6 years of directly related work experience.
Information Systems Architect, V: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) \+ 10 years or a master’s (or equivalency) \+ 8 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Proven track record of successfully migrating large-scale, on-premise relational databases to AWS
- Experience and acumen to move complex data transformation projects forward under minimal supervision.
- Experience in a higher education setting
- Experience with PeopleSoft data, Tableau, Lucid Chart, and/or similar ERP systems, visualization and diagramming tools.
- A Master’s degree in MIS or related field
