Job Overview

IT Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust information technology systems for rehabilitation and long-term care facilities. The role ensures reliable network and server performance, data security, and user support, collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to enable seamless patient care and operational efficiency.

JOB SCOPE

The IT Engineer is responsible for the planning, deployment, and ongoing support of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, virtualization, and clinical applications. You will perform system administration, incident response, and performance tuning while ensuring data integrity, backup reliability, and disaster recovery readiness. Responsibilities include managing user access, implementing security controls, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA). You’ll evaluate, install, and maintain hardware and software, monitor system performance, and coordinate with vendors for procurement and support contracts. The role requires collaborating with clinical leadership to optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems, telehealth platforms, and clinical devices, while supporting business continuity and IT governance. You’ll deliver technical training to staff, develop standard operating procedures, and lead IT projects from planning through execution, ensuring minimal downtime and a secure, patient-centered technology environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Educations and Certificates:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of IT engineering/administration experience in healthcare or similarly regulated environments.
  • Experience with healthcare IT systems (EHR, PACS, HIS), networks, servers, virtualization, and cloud services.

SKILLS AND PORFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong knowledge of network architectures, Windows/Linux server administration, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) as applicable.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data security, HIPAA compliance, risk management, and incident response.
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and IT service management (ITIL) practices.
  • Proficiency with cybersecurity fundamentals, firewall management, and endpoint protection.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication, customer service, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Competence with ITSM tools, monitoring solutions, and documentation best practices.

LANGUAGE

  • Proficiency in written, read and spoken Arabic and English languages.

  • Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure supporting clinical and administrative operations.
  • Monitor system performance, security, and reliability; respond to incidents and outages.
  • Manage user access, security policies, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders to optimize EHR, telehealth, and medical device integrations.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies, SOPs, and governance frameworks.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and external support teams; oversee budgeting and procurement.
  • Provide end-user training and technical support; maintain thorough documentation.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness for healthcare information systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, storage, and virtualization platforms.
  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity controls; respond to security incidents; perform risk assessments.
  • Manage cloud resources, backups, and DR/BC testing; verify data integrity and restore capabilities.
  • Administer EHR, clinical applications, and integration with devices; troubleshoot interoperability issues.
  • Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and patch management.
  • Lead IT-related projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support as required; document incidents and resolutions.
  • Create training materials and conduct user training sessions.
  • Prepare reports on system status, security posture, and project progress.
