Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer

Job Title: IT Infrastructure Engineer (Senior Systems Engineer)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, operate, and continuously optimize complex enterprise IT infrastructure. In this role, you will act as a last-level technical expert, ensuring the stability, security, and standardization of IT services while supporting infrastructure projects and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, install, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise IT infrastructure components
• Manage and support virtual server environments, terminal services, backup and recovery solutions, monitoring systems, endpoint protection platforms, database systems, and secure file transfer solutions
• Provide last-level support by independently handling incidents, problems, and escalations
• Contribute to IT projects through technical consultation, planning, and solution design
• Coordinate tasks and deliverables with external service providers, internal IT teams, and business stakeholders
• Develop and implement automation and scripting solutions to improve operational efficiency
• Ensure compliance with information security standards, ISMS policies, and regulatory requirements
• Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation and standardized procedures
• Participate in on-call rotations and scheduled maintenance activities
• Perform defined IT service management roles such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in systems engineering or enterprise infrastructure administration
• Strong expertise in Windows and Linux server environments
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Proxmox
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam
• Experience managing terminal server environments, monitoring tools, and endpoint security solutions
• Familiarity with database administration and secure file transfer technologies
• Practical experience in infrastructure automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
• Solid understanding of ITIL practices, including incident, problem, and change management
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a structured and goal-oriented approach
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage priorities in complex environments
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• High level of ownership, reliability, and adaptability in dynamic international environments
• ITIL Foundation certification and working proficiency in English and German are considered an advantage
